Yamato Empire Chapter 80

Chapter 80: The Führer and the Post-War World

“And so Luna fell. The leader, Julius, was captured… Do you have any questions so far?”

“Nh, none so far. Ayame-san.”

The sofa in the Führer’s office of the new Führer’s exclusive ship, Akitsushima.

So there, I received a report about what happened while using Ayame-san’s lap as a pillow.

The attack by the Chi-Ha tank squad was unexpected, but it’s great that the Luna capture operation seems to have gone well.

Hmm, mass producing Chi-Ha tanks might not be a bad idea.

According to rumors, the Chi-Ha seems to be playing a symbolic role of the Imperial tank in all of the Albatross countries due to its success in the Luna?

Speaking of Empire tanks, the Chi-Ha tank is also known as the Empire’s Lightning! Like saying Chi-Ha is the strongest! It has that kind of feeling.

The 15-ton Chi-Ha tanks are a bit too heavy for infrastructure on other worlds that can only be handled by the smaller tankettes, but the idea of forming a unit similar to an independent medium tank battalion as a symbolic group and deploying it locally seems interesting.

……Well, let’s discuss that with the Army again sometime in the future.

And there are plans to expand the Army Air Corps.

Like the development of a new type of heavy bomber or a new type of attack aircraft… Well, a lot has happened.

Anyway.

This brought an end to the large-scale wars that had erupted on the eastern continent.

Until now, we, the Yamato Empire, have been fighting on three fronts in this series of wars.

One of them is the Luna front, which just came to an end.

In the war to stop the Luna Kingdom, which self-proclaimed as the Luna Empire and launched an attack on the surrounding countries… This war ended rather abruptly, partly due to the changing of sides within Luna.

The enemy leader, the self-proclaimed emperor Julius-san, was captured by Baal Balka, the king of Balka while suffering from multiple fractures all over his body.

Next, the battlefront with the dark elves.

The Black Elven Empire that borders the Kingdom of Lusiya and the Kingdom of Dorcelli. This is the front to stop the invasion of this country.

In this case, I personally went into the battle and crushed the enemy’s eastern army in the Battle of Pudding Highlands, thus bringing peace to the region.

We successfully create a temporary stalemate by crushing the opponent’s will to attack.

We have not conducted any peace negotiations nor have we signed any peace treaty, but…

There are no diplomatic relations between dark elves and humans, and since there is no peace, this situation where they are not attacking each other seems to be the end of the war for the time being.

I would like to establish diplomatic relations with the dark elves someday, as I don’t want this instability to continue forever, but… It seems quite difficult.

It is difficult to have a discussion with different races. Because they just won’t listen to me.

At some point, we may need to wage a war of extermination.

I don’t want to do a war of extermination or something like that because it makes me look like a villain… There are a lot of professionals in that field in my country, so it is something we could easily do if we decided to do it.

 ……That’s right.

And finally, this is the front against the Moruro Empire.

It’s more like a barbarian hunt than a war? We have crushed the enemy’s main force a long time ago, and now it is time to deal with the remnants. It feels like the big war is already over.

It would be perfect if we could invite immigrants from all over the world to the land we acquired by driving away the barbarians.

For the time being, my empire will be taking care of the immigrants until they have reached a minimum level of self-defense… Well, if you consider it as an early investment for the future, it doesn’t look bad.

I hope that it will grow into a large-scale market in the future.

The Empire is at peace now that these three fronts are over.

The Empire’s industry is revived as the resources of Manchuria and the allied countries come together…

“…For now, the foundation has been stabilized. Unless there is another traitor.”

“That’s right, Eryu-san.”

In the series of wars on the eastern continent, I think it’s fair to say that the forces resisting us have almost disappeared.

The only one seemingly capable of resisting us is the Black Elven Empire… They too are exhausted from the war, so they are not an immediate threat.

It’s so peaceful.

These days without any conflicts aren’t that bad.

However, not everything has been resolved yet. The problem is the post-war resolution.

For example…

“It’s about Luna’s future. What should we do?”

“Luna, huh? Eryu-san, what do you want to do? I’ll do what Eryu-san wants, but…”

“Hmm, I don’t want to get involved because it’s troublesome.”

It’s about dealing with the traitor, Luna.

As for me, I’m satisfied now that I’ve beaten them to a pulp and taken advantage of the chaotic post-war situation, I’ve been given mining rights, railroad operating rights, port usage rights… You know, if I could receive various privileges, then I guess that would be enough.

I don’t want to send the Yamato Imperial Army to Luna and govern it in earnest like the GHQ (General Headquarters).

I wouldn’t want to stick my neck out any more necessary in such a complicated and bizarre situation like the Albatross.

“Don’t you want to get involved?”

“…It’s just a wishful thinking. In reality, I think that we have to really stick our necks out and do it accordingly. Because you see, Luna lost so well.”

“They have lost so well, huh?”

Ayame-san asks me while gently stroking my head on her lap, I explain to her as I count on the fingers of my hand.

“First of all, Albatross’ strongest, the Luna army is perfectly intact, right?… Nggh.”

“Oh, Eryu-san, what’s the matter?”

“No… It was nothing.”

Just a moment ago, didn’t someone’s hand touch my butt?… Ayame-san, I’m having a serious conversation right now.

“…It’s not me.”

I see, you know, I really hate traitors along with liars. I straighten my body up and hug Ayame-san from the front.

And then I look into her eyes…

“Ayame-san, do you have anything to say? I won’t be angry now.”

While saying so as I brought my face closer… Ah, you’ve just averted your eyes, haven’t you?

Sigh, seriously.

“…If you want to touch it so much, just tell me.”

“Sometimes I want to indulge myself in the guilt pleasure of touching without permission. Look, your thighs are so defenseless, you know?”

Mmm… Oh, did you completely change your attitude right away? Well, that’s fine. Here, please carry me.

Do me a princess carry.

……And we strayed from the topic, didn’t we?

“Unlike the armies of the Albatross countries, which were greatly depleted during the Battle of Gahara Gate, the Luna army is almost unscathed. That was because they switched sides before the battle.”

As long as a country has a strong military, it can remain sovereign.

Luna still has a formidable army that exceeds 100,000 troops, making it difficult for other countries of Albatross, whose militaries are exhausted, to make demands such as war reparations from them.

If Luna attacks them out of anger, they won’t be able to deal with it.

Furthermore, that country is doing well…

“Next, if I remember correctly, is about King Luna’s Julius…”

“He has been executed by the angry citizens of Luna, Eryu-san. They hung him upside down and pelted him with rocks, if I’m not mistaken?”

Well, it’s Luna’s traditional method of execution.

Put all the blame on Julius, and then execute him. Do you think that within Luna, there is a growing sentiment that they belong to the victorious nation that defeated the evil dictator?

With this, it has also become difficult to push through political demands.

It’s not that I can’t do it, but… Since the evil dictator has died, it is unfortunate that we can no longer stage a performance to punish the dictator in the post-war trials.

What’s more, aren’t there already plans within the Luna to form a new government centered around the military commanders?

The way they handle the postwar process is too fast. It is faster than the time it takes for us to make a move.

“Those guys are good at losing. It’s always like this, no matter how many defeats they suffer, they survive and put on a facade.”

I remember what Valheim II-san of Dorcelli said with a bitter look on his face after being rescued from the burning Luna.

If this situation is left completely unaddressed, the traitor Luna may return to the international community as if nothing has happened.

If we want to punish Luna, we have to intervene in some way.

……For now, let’s leave that aspect to the politicians. Besides, it’s better for me to leave that to the professional diplomats, because they’re more adept at it than me.

Is it just a matter of making them pay the appropriate compensation for the other countries or something like that?

It just…

I will leave the fundamentals to the Albatross countries. It’s not exactly the Monroe Doctrine, but I do not want to put my head into unnecessary things and waste national strength in vain.

I will leave the troublesome things to other countries and only suck on the tasty parts.

“What, you want to sucky sucky, huh? If that’s what you want, then… I’m fine if Eryu-san wants it, but nothing will come out of it, you know?”

“Wait, Ayame-san. What are you doing? Don’t just suddenly undress…”

“Eryu-san made the face that you want it… Do you dislike it?”

……Eh, umm, that’s… Can you please stop reading my mind without my permission and getting all excited like that.

Well, don’t mind if I do.

But that’s something you should talk about when we’re in bed. Look, since you’ve gone through the trouble of carrying me in your arms, so please carry me to the bed as it is.

Really, you have not changed at all, Ayame-san… That’s what I love about you.
