Yamato Empire Chapter 65

Chapter 65: A Small Talk with the Führer

August 21, 305 Yamato Calendar.

It has been about three months since the start of Operation Storm on the Plains for the conquest of Moruro, hasn’t it?

A large package was delivered to the Führer’s office on the Führer’s ship Fugaku, which docked at the port town of Juno.

If you are wondering what it is… It’s a painting.

It’s a picture of a muscular macho pervert carrying a cannon, facing off against the Moruro army.

“Eryu-san, this is a present from King Balka. The title is King Balka Fighting against the enemy General Dorjik in the Battle of Leutra… or so I’ve heard.”

“It’s just as the title says… So, what should I do with this?”

“I wonder? Would you like to present it to the Princess of Lusiya? I’m sure she’ll be delighted.”

Yeah, let’s do that.

I appreciate the sentiment, but it’s not my hobby to display a painting featuring such a sweaty old man.

Now then.

As you can see from this picture, just recently, the decisive battle between the Balka and Moruro armies, known as the Battle of Leutra, broke out.

The military forces of both sides are…

Balka army, 100,000.

Moruro army, 700 dragon riders, and 20,000 cavalry.

In terms of numbers, the Balka army was overwhelmingly superior, but the Moruro army had a large number of formidable dragon riders.

Balka’s army forms a battle line and fires volleys of cannon fire. Meanwhile, Moruro’s army relies on the powerful breaching ability of its dragon riders to penetrate the center of the enemy’s battle line.

This battle was so intense that the enemy general Dorjik apparently managed to charge as far as right in front of King Balka, just as depicted in the painting.

However, thanks to the power of the Ōdzutsu that we sold, the Balka army somehow won.

But, the damage was by no means small, and the hill where the battle was fought came to be known as Bloody Hill, or Hill of Tears, because so much blood was shed… As stated in the report.

The painting was apparently drawn to report and at the same time to celebrate this victory.

……Yeah, let’s give it to Lusiya-san. Surely, she will be happy to see the gallant figure of her future husband.

Well, then…

Our Yamato Army also annihilated the enemy’s main forces in the Battle of Kursk, and the Greater East Co-Prosperity Sphere established a solid dominance in Moruro.

All we have to do is to continue to push forward as we are, and simply crush any small amount of resistance that remains.

The territory of Moruro itself is fairly large, and I don’t think we can conquer it immediately… Everything seems to be fine.

Given the situation, I’m not needed in Moruro anymore, right? It seems that there won’t be any more decisive battles.

I just returned to Fugaku to pick up my luggage…

“Ayame-san, shall we return home country for now?”

“Understood, Eryu-san… Wait, before that, I need to award that man a medal.”

“……Again? At this rate, it won’t be long before we’ll have to create a new medal, right?”

That man, as you can guess from his medal, it’s that person.

He seems to be deploying every single day without ever taking a break… The other day he was flying over the plains and said, “Everything looks so quiet, as if it’s dead.”

No, actually, Moruro’s army, they’re all dead. It’s mainly because of him.

In these past few months, he has further increased his military achievements and has received several Imperial Knight’s Iron Cross Medals. How far has he progressed currently?

“With the medal rank. I wondered if the sword would be next.”

“Indeed, after that one is a diamond…”

“And there’s nothing beyond that.”

“We have to create a new one, don’t we? Let’s make it golden oak leaves, swords, and diamonds. Just make twelve of them and award them to the hero who will save the empire, what do you think?”

In the end, isn’t that man the only one receiving it? Ayame-san seems to want to say something, but…

I understand, I understand it very well.

What is with that person? Is he even a human?

 ……Oh, there’s a knocking sound.

“Your Excellency, it’s me. Captain Yozakura.”

“Hm, you can come in.”

After giving her permission to enter, Yozakura-san enters the office.

“We received a message from Albatross a little while ago. it is said that they will dispatch troops against the Black Elven Empire.”

The United Kingdom of Albatross is going to dispatch troops?

“I see… I don’t think that’s a problem. Let’s contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to keep in close contact with them, and proceed only with the arms support.”

“Yes, sir.”

Yozakura-san salutes and leaves the room.

She’s boing boing as always.

I can’t help being jealous… Wait, no. I am not jealous, look, I am originally a man, right? It doesn’t have to be that big…

“……What’s the matter, Eryu-san? As I thought, you’re still fond of large-breasted women, aren’t you? Even though we vowed a future together.”

“No, it’s not.”

……Lately, I have almost forgotten that I am a man.

Without a doubt, it’s Ayame-san’s fault, because she always does things like that…

Sigh…I am having an identity crisis.

And speaking of the Albatross Union, how will that Luna Kingdom behave?

Perhaps they are trying to curry favor with the Yamato Empire since that country has purchased about 100,000 Type 4 rifles from us.

They have also purchased 100 units of cannons and have been confirmed to be the largest importer of weapons within the Albatross Union.

Or rather, aren’t they buying as much as all the other countries combined?

It seems that just the other day, about 50,000 rifles were purchased as an additional order. They also buy an excessive amount of ammunition.

It is not an exaggeration to say that we have acquired the top military power within Albatross.

I don’t think they would amass that kind of massive military power just for fun or to gain prestige…

It can’t be, are they seriously going to crush the elves? If that’s the case, how should the empire proceed from now on?

It may be possible to send a portion of the army on the Moruro territory southward to launch an invasion into the elf territory.

It seems like the supplies are about to run out.

Thinking about the south and all the things I have to do strangely tires me out. I want to go home and see the opera as soon as possible.

I would be happy if Ayame-san also developed an interest in opera as well… Unfortunately, the person herself says that she is not interested.

Even the last time we went to see it together, she never paid attention to the opera, instead she kept looking at my thighs…

Sigh…

“What’s wrong, Eryu-san? You keep sighing.”

“It’s nothing, Ayame-san. More importantly, when is the new model tank that I ordered likely to be completed?”

“It’s a new type of heavy tank equipped with an 88mm cannon, isn’t it? Since the design has not yet been completed, the earliest it can be implemented in actual combat is one year, or maybe two years from now.”

Oh, I see.

Well, at first I thought we didn’t need heavy tanks. When you see the great power of an 88mm cannon, you just want to have one.

It may be difficult with the current technical capabilities of the empire, but it seems that engine manufacturers have been successful in developing a 400-horsepower gasoline engine…

I think we can make something that can function at the very least.

I mean, it seems that they are making a 60-ton class monster as a prototype heavy tank, in my country. It is something like the French Char 2C heavy tank.

It’s so heavy that I don’t even want to use it in my own country, and during the game era it was too expensive, so I don’t remember selling it… Yep.

Other than that…

“I hear the Navy’s new aircraft is almost ready?”

“It’s a new type of carrier-based aircraft, powered by the Jupiter 450-horsepower air-cooled radial engine… Since the crucial aircraft carrier is just a single practice aircraft carrier converted from a merchant ship, it doesn’t seem likely that it can participate in actual combat.”

Umikaze, the Navy’s new carrier-based aircraft… It resembles the Type 3 Carrier Fighter used by the Imperial Japanese Navy.

A high-performance aircraft equipped with a 450-horsepower Jupiter engine, which is the Empire’s finest technology, this engine is said to be capable of reaching over 200 km/h with its aircraft, however, it is not yet ready for actual combat.

That’s unfortunate.

But, that Jupiter engine is a good engine.

It has more than double the horsepower of the existing engine. Shall we go ahead and make a new type of ground-attack aircraft, or something like that, using this?

=====

Weapon Explanation: Carrier-based aircraft “Umikaze”

Specifications:

Maximum speed 230 km/h

Maximum altitude 5000m

Flight range 400 km

Ascent rate 6 m/s

Engine: 9-cylinder air-cooled radial engine with 450 horsepower codenamed Jupiter.

Armament: 7,7mm machine gun, two units.

Explosive charges: 30kg bomb, two units.

1 crew member.

The Navy’s first fighter aircraft. A single-engine, biplane, single-seat fighter that bears a strong resemblance to the Type 3 Carrier Fighter operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy.

The lack of aerodynamic refinement leads to lower performance, despite having considerable horsepower.

……Actually, this poor aircraft was only brought up for the sake of introducing the Jupiter engine. The engine is intended to be the main feature, but whether this aircraft will play an active role is yet to be determined. Probably not going to happen.
