Yamato Empire Chapter 59

Chapter 59: The Moruro War Front

May 30, 305 Yamato Calendar.

A great calamity befell the Great Moruro Empire in the central part of the eastern continent, if compared to the American continent, it would be where the United States is located.

The Yamato Empire launched a military operation, ‘Operation Storm on the Plains,’ to commemorate the establishment of the Greater East Co-prosperity Sphere.

The target is, of course, the Moruro Empire.

By crushing this nomadic nation and driving it from its lands, they were able to revive the countries that once existed in the land of Moruro and incorporate them into the Empire’s sphere of influence.

Proclaiming that as their goal, they began to mobilize their forces.

The forces deployed in this operation are mostly army units.

Referred to as the Moruro Theater Army, this unit consists of 60,000 troops from the 1st Marine Division, 3rd Infantry Division, 4th Infantry Division, and 1st Armored Division.

With additional Imperial Guard troops to this force.

Given that the total military force of the current empire’s army is 200,000, which means that about one-third of the army was deployed for this operation.

“It’s good that most of the supplies that were prepared for the Final War can be repurposed, but… I didn’t expect to see us conducting such a large military operation just a little over a year after having transferred here.”

It’s such a large military force that an Imperial dignitary can’t help but say this.

But it is not limited only to that.

After all, this is for the ‘Greater East Co-prosperity Sphere’――in other words, a battle in which human dignity is at stake.

100,000 of the Balka kingdom’s army. 20,000 of the liberation army from the small countries that were destroyed by the Moruro Empire. For some reason, there is an expedition of 2,000 volunteer troops sent from the far-off kingdom of Lusiya.

If you combine these forces, the total amount of troops swelled to about 200,000. It is a great military force that leaves its name in the history of the Eastern Continent.

“Oh, as expected of the Goddess Temple! We also have plenty of divine staff――the Ōdzutsu. Our victory for Balka is assured! This battle is for the goddess of war! And to my future wife!”

The eve before the departure for war.

The King of Balka, Baal Balka is confident of his victory, declaring it loudly in a temple dedicated to the war goddess Helvor.

And because we were able to mobilize such a large military force, the ‘Operation Storm of the Plains’ was extremely simple.

Relying on the vast size of this army, they advanced eastward from the Balkan Peninsula in one go. Continued forward while laying a railway network, crushing the Moruro Empire’s territory simultaneously.

Yeah, that’s all.

This is not considered a war by the Yamato Empire.

It’s nothing more than a routine work. They crush the barbarians with an overwhelming army, much like filling a map with color.

For an operation of this magnitude, it is inevitable that there will be a significant cost… This time there are colleagues who will share the burden, and in the future, this region will be part of the Greater East Co-prosperity Sphere.

It’s not so bad if you consider it as a form of upfront investment.

Furthermore, various new weapons can also be experimented with.

Later, the army officers who participated in this operation said, “This is not a war. It was a large-scale weapons experiment set on the massive Moruro plain.”

The duration of the operation is expected to be up to one year.

Subjugating a country the size of the Moruro Empire within a year would essentially amount to a near-constant, non-stop invasion. However, the Yamato Empire judged that they had prepared enough military force to accomplish that.

On the day the operation began, the first to move was the Balka army.

A total of four legions were organized by the Balka, which crossed the border from the Balkan mainland with a total of 100,000 soldiers. The beginning of the assault on the Moruro empire.

Those who resisted this were the local Moruro people.

They were ‘hunting’ throughout various parts of Moruro, responding and counterattacking when the invading Balka army arrived.

However, this was not a significant obstacle for the Balka army.

At this time, the Moruro people formed some small units for the purpose of ‘hunting’. At most, there were 10 dragon riders and 100 cavalry.

In terms of modern armies, it’s close to a reconnaissance unit.

No matter how powerful the dragon rider that uses the Moruro giant lizard is, they can’t fight against the vast numbers of the Balkan main force, given their small numbers.

Either quietly run away, or fight with the resolve of being crushed.

Furthermore, following this Balka army’s offensive, the Yamato Empire’s army landed in various cities along the Moruro coast.

The landing, which was considered to be the most difficult, succeeded, thanks in part to extensive preparations such as renovating the city where the landing was planned.

The Imperial Army successfully set foot on the land of Moruro without suffering any harm.

This landed unit is the main force of the Yamato army, which consists of the 1st Armored Division, the 1st Marine Division, and two Army divisions.

The Führer, who loves the front lines, naturally joined this force, which consisted of the Empire’s only armored division.

Leading the Imperial Guard squad herself, they followed behind the armored unit.

The operations after that also, are generally going smoothly.

At one point, a Moruro giant lizard, which had been missed by the advancing armored division, approached the Führer as she landed, but this was quickly resolved by the tank guns of the Imperial Guard Armored Battalion.

The commander of the armored division who made the mistake is punched by a certain maid, causing a bit of confusion, but it quickly subsides.

The participating division continued to advance without facing significant resistance and successfully secured a sufficient bridgehead.

So far, the progress has been flawless.

This is indeed a stunning, lightning-fast victory.

However, this is to be expected. No country in this world can perfectly respond when suddenly an army of 200,000 crosses the border.

The issue now is how the Moruro Empire will respond after confirming the invasion of the Yamato Empire and the Balkan army.

☆☆☆☆☆

“My eldest son, Dorjik. My second son, Battine. Thank you for gathering.”

“Yes, Father.”

The nomadic buildings called “Ger” on a certain plain.

Inside a large tent, there stood a man referred to as the “Khan” of the Moruro people―― a title that translates to “Emperor” in other cultures.

Although he is not so tall, he has a stout physique comparable to professional wrestlers or sumo wrestlers, and he appears large due to his bulky figure.

His clothes are simple, reminiscent of nomads.

Though the man is adorned with gold and silver ornaments, the combination of his physique gives him the appearance of a warrior.

Neither an elegant culture nor a prosperous life is needed.

He dedicated everything to his primal instinct of “pleasure of hunting”.

A ruler worthy of such a Moruro people’s way of life.

And two men kneeling before him.

Unlike the Khan, both of them are tall. However, their physique is very similar with short limbs and stout appearance.

They are the crown princes of the Moruro Empire. They are the sons of Khan.

“I’m sure you’ve heard, is that the Balkans have attacked. Furthermore, there is also a report that troops from the country Yamato have landed after crossing the sea. Dorjik, lead your army and attack the Balkans.”

“Leave it to me, father. I, kill the Balkans. Every one of them.”

Dorjik, speaking a little broken. Perhaps, after putting too much of his IQ into his combat ability, causing his language skills to degrade.

The army he was given consisted of 700 dragon riders mounted on giant lizards, with an additional 20,000 cavalry.

“Well then, Battine. You will take down Yamato. I’ll lend you a thousand dragon riders.”

“Yes, as you command…”

Battine, who is well-spoken. He bows deeply and borrows his army from Khan.

1000 dragon riders and 30,000 cavalry soldiers. An army larger than the one given to Dorjik. It is a massive army that could overrun any average nation by itself.

Dorjik and Battine.

The army led by two generals is heading towards the vicinity of the western border of the Balka.

Composed only of cavalry and dragon riders, allows the Moruro’s army to march at a high speed. In no time, they arrived on the battlefield and found themselves facing the army of the Greater East Co-prosperity Sphere, led by the Yamato Empire.
